Really good advice about working with the recruiter. The better experiences I have had working with HR and recruiters have been when we have gone over some early resumes together and figured out why as the hiring manager I liked some and not others. The good ones can draw out the nuances that may not get captured on an initial job description.

Refreshing attitude about hiring for brains and attitude over a specific skill set. Unfortunate that it is such a rare approach.

Pierce, excellent points.

I've always liked IBMs DB technologies. Many people also don't know that iBM led the research on RISC instruction sets & the emulation technology needed to validate the RISC systems.

IBM also contributed almost as much to open source Java as Sun has.

This totally helps. I'm about to start the process of screening iOS devs - my anxiety (being a non-dev, but in IT) is quelled a bit. Thank you very much!

I really enjoyed this insight. I would like to know more about its source, and are you the one to apply it to Agile development?
