You know I like numbers...
Here are international incidents of terrorism over the years:

9/11 is distorting the graph a bit, if we remove North America:

Finally, we show only the Middle East

You can do these yourself here
Here is the war on terror in a nutshell. These are the deaths from Terrorism prior to 9/11:

Here are the death's post 9/11:

The plan for the Global War on Terror? Make terrorism more of a Middle East problem. Almost no deaths since 9/11 in North America, decreases in most other regions, with the remaining deaths moving to the Middle East. I think it was all very well and good when terrorism was something that people like Osama did elsewhere, but when it becomes something that happens down the street, I doubt that people like Al Jazeera will continue to glorify it...
Here's another couple of charts showing the same thing. First off, overall, terrorism has been declining in most of the world for the last decade:

But lately, the terrorists have been shitting where they eat:

Though they're way behind in 2005 from 2004. Perhaps the people in the Middle East have gotten fed up with terrorism too? Perhaps that's too much to ask. A monthly chart shows it coming in waves:

So a big chunk of those incidents were before the Iraq elections. Since then there has been that drop off. Looking by country, we see that the majority of attacks are in Iraq:

So a large peak before the elections, then a steep drop off.
That's incidents though. Injuries tells a different story:

So fewer incidents, but more people injured per incident. This probably reflects the Iraqi terrorists shifting to “softer” targets. That is, killing civilians and other innocents instead of trying to attack US or Iraqi army units.
So the international Zionist conspiracy is working well, injuries in Israel have been declining while those in Iraq have been rising:

Though I'm just being sarcastic, I think Arafat dying had more to do with that then anything. Perhaps the wall helped too.
