thanks for the link, you opinionated bastard! for the record let me just note that the roundup is entitled ‘NEW energy currents’, not ‘alternative’ energy currents, and includes links to stories on nuclear, coal, gas, and oil news precisely for this reason - activists have been harping about the imminent death of ‘conventional’ energy for decades, but those reports have obviously been greatly exaggerated, and they still are. there’s a lot of work being done on conventional energy sources as well and it’s silly to exclude them from discussions of our energy future just because alternatives get all the hype.
