So I’m watching this 60 minutes smear piece about armoring vehicles in Iraq.
I’m not going to write about that. What it sickening me right now is the clip they showed from Reuters of an IED blowing up. It’s perfectly clear to me that they knew where the IED was going to be, and stationed their camera in time to watch an American soldier get killed, and others wounded.
I hope they enjoyed their ratings, the evil fuckheads. For all the blathering I read about us killing people for corporate profits, what do you call not making a phone call if you know someone is going to blow up some American soldiers? Or if Reuters didn’t have a quarter, perhaps they could have just waved their arms and said “STOP!”.
If I was the family of that soldier who got killed, I’d be suing Reuters for $$$$$ right now.

This might make you feel a bit better.
Unfortunately this video of a FAILED insurgent attack on our forces isn’t getting any play in our media. Of course they won’t show a soldier who heroically defeats his attackers and survives the initial attack thanks to US body armor. That would show the US military in a good light now, wouldn’t it.

That clip was just another piece of propaganda trying to keep the flames of irrationalist patriotism afloat among a deluge of facts showing how lame this war really is. (holy US soldier, brutally and unjustly attacked by a terrorist, pulls himself up by his bootstraps, protected by good govt armor, helps and heals the terrorist who shot him…probably even said a prayer for him and taught him bible verses) get real.
I like the video where a US soldier shoots a wounded iraqi in the back then says how fun it was and how he wants to do it again, “welcome home jimmy” your wife will love your new attitude.
You think CBS set up that humvee to explode for ratings? Do you really believe that? There are lots of videos on the internet showing humvees getting the shit blown out of them, why wouldnt CBS just pick about 10 or 12 of those?
Humvees explode in Iraq so yuppies can drive them on our freeways. FACT.
Also, in your opinion, would it ever, i mean ever, be slightly possible for a right winger to “smear” someone or something. So far as i empirically examine the false ideology, it seems impossible (ya have to admire the infallibility presumed by right wingers…very totalitarian, the real world doesnt work that way…but ma and pa walmart love it).

I don’t think CBS setup the humvee to explode for ratings, I think Reuters (different company) got a tip from some terrorists what they were going to do, and kept mum so they could get the “shot”. CBS then paid for the shot. Why didn’t they steal a clip off the internet? Dunno, probably not good enough quality for broadcast.
As for the rest, blah, blah, blah. You’re accusing me of some sort of hysterical blindness about the right, while you’re implying the sniper clip was faked? Couldn’t they just both be valid? My only comment was that I thought it was morally reprehensible for the Fourth Estate to stand by while people are going to get killed, meanwhile 60 minutes uses that clip as a smear (the piece was a re-run anyways) in order to get ratings?
The fourth estate is just as susceptible to greed as Walmart, ernie.
