Interesting

So most of the right-wing blogs accepted the Downing Street memos at face value, though post Rathergate, a few questioned.

Which makes this interesting because in the process of investigating, they caught a newspaper faking a photograph. Long live blogs! Keep those newspaper guys on their toes!

But the Downing Street memo is real and shows that Bush admin claims and actions a yeaar before the war were all lies, a PR campaign designed to manipulate the American public. (also, the financial times reported in dec 2003 that france knew the US was going to war no matter what, they knew the UN ploy was fake…they were tipped off by UK intelligence)

The best thing is that Karl Rove essentially called the 59% of americans who are against this fake war built on lies traitors who are on the side of al quaeda…ahhahaha

the republicans are imploding before our eyes…2006 should be interesting…there really is a public impulse to dislike republicans now, it is becoming culturally hip, like how the right wingers like to pretend they are strong men and make fun of some kind of femininity in liberals….this is getting great, watch the country fracture!

Sure, I knew we were going to war in 2002 (too bad I no longer have my blog entries from that period, they got eaten.) I don’t know why you think this Downing street memo is news ernie. The Bush administration started contacting NGOs to deal with the post-war phase in 2002, and Woodward and Tommy Franks documented in their books all the other pre-war stuff that went on to prep for the war long before all the UN stuff went on.

Really Ernie, you have to catch up. You’re waving this Downing street memo like its this great smoking gun, but its not really news. It was obvious to me, and I suspect to you as well that the adminstration was gearing up for war in Iraq. It was inevitable once Bush asked for permission from Congress, which he did in 2002.

Bush himself stated that he was going to war with or without the UN at the time, that’s what made the whole UN thing such a clusterfuck. If the UN approved it, they were rubber stamps, if they didn’t approve it, they were inneffectual.

Anyways, the whole point of this entry is that the blogosphere is catching journalists being sloppy, which is the most interesting part of all this.

Come to think of it ernie, I touched on your theme with the Bush Lied, People Died entry.

I agree, the buidl up to war was obvious, but the Downing Street memo is news because it shows that the US was fixing intelligence to make a case for war that the Brits thought was really unconvincing. It also shows that the Bush admin put together an incredibly complex set of false arguemnts, with cooperation of US corproate medias to manipulate american opinion by exploiting 911. If this war would have been a 3 week victory, like the neo-cons expected, this would have worked. But now that 1725 US soldiers are dead, and US support for this war is rapidly coollapsing, people are being critical, and resentful to the fact that they were led into this war by the ring through their nose.

If Bush would have justified this war with straight forward power concepts it would have failed. This war will continue to be disasterous for Bush, Republicans in Congress (and demos who supported it)The American popel might be deluded, but when they sense their leaders lying and massive deception, they get real pissed. That is what is happening right now, watch the collapse of Republican power, it is well underway, and will be terminal for Republican domination in 2006.

PS…i dont support democrats either, so i argue this from the outside, objectively (jesus, i dont support state inustrial capitalism and its militarist foundations at all)…i dont have to goose step behind either party or ideology, i think they are both false. it is just obvious that Republicans are faltering big time…tom delays friends and thier indian gaming scams, Bush lies, Schiavo, Social Security, etc…people are fed up and like the conservatives used peoples cynicism against liberals, what goes around, comes around.
