Yes nice post, the Clintons are displaying all the religious garb because they realize how enthralled the the American public is with fundamentalists Christianity in this era. They have to show that they too love moral values and jesus. It is an interesting thing that in America politicians think they must show how religious they are too be elected.
Upon examination though it is easy to argue that Bill Clinton is responsible for policies that killed 1,000,000 people in Iraq, Bosnia, Rwanda, and East Timor. Bill Clinton supported the increasing of the American Police State with the 1996 crime Bill signing, supported intl capitalist interests over American workers with Uruguay Round of GATT and NAFTA. He further supported maintaining a nuclear arsenal with the ability to destroy humanity, and aggressive US foreign policy. WWJD indeed.
So anyway, America has been incredibly depoliticized through corporate generated cultural manipulation. In this state of alienation people exist in despair, so they reach out to “answers” that can help their alienated existence…(hippies are real similar to christian fundamentalists in this respect)So pretty soon the flag is the shroud of turin, the president is pharoah, and the kinfolk all rejoice in the holy benevolence of their masters..the holy state..could only do good. war for god!
So, see, ya, i couldnt care less about Bill Clinton. Those who choose to look at the real world know he is another minion/killer for power. He knows the benefits of putting on the cross as this cross got elected an obviously mentally deficient man, GW.
hey didnt the book of revelations say that most christians would be deceived in the last days? go figure.
Yeah, there’s like a dime’s worth of difference between the D’s and the R’s.
The Book of Revelations says that if you think the end times are coming, that’s when they aren’t. The end times won’t come until no one believes they are coming.
Figure that one out.
Personally, I’m still working on the 10 commandments. Hmmm…I should do a post about Genesis.
Holy moly we agreed on something, there goes the world. Ya , i like the 10 commandments in public issue. i think they should plaster it on everything the US govt produces, paint it on the sides of our nuclear tipped ICBMs, every M16, in every strip club…etc…how funny…in every class room so the kids can read thou shalt not kill before they join the marines. Why dont we notice the hypocrisy?
That’s why reading the NIV is important, its really Thou Shalt Not Murder. (which makes a lot of sense considering the commandments come before a whole bunch of wars by the Israelites against their neighbors). The Hebrew word used is “murder” not “kill”.
Ya, but thats the point. Nobody in power ever “murders”. Bin ladens fans would never claim he murders, or is bad, he is just defending, just like Bush, just like every other power source perpetuating violence.
Judeo Christian religion throughout history has been one of the most deadly structures of humanity, this is a plain and simple fact.
Judeo Christian religion has also been the most charitable structure of humanity.
Don’t always look at the negative Ernie. You miss so much that way, all organization done by humans are going to have a mixture of good and bad. Its the nature of humanity.
You’re so steeped in Judeo-Christian culture that you don’t realize that many of our most positive values are Christian values. Values that other cultures based on other religions don’t have.
As far as murder vs. killing goes, well, that’s why morality is hard. But back to your point about the marines, there is nothing wrong with being a soldier, the Bible is pretty clear about that. You can say that Bin Laden argues differently, but one of the things that bothers me about the Quran is that it says its ok to murder.
