I'll say it again though, if it was practical, it wouldn't be “alternative” it would be “energy”.
That said, I'm thinking about putting a wind machine on my property. APS just got approval to raise their rates during the summer when all the Phoenix people turn on their air conditioners. But that means that my electric bill jumped $60. A $500/500 watt generator could save me $44/month, so it might end up paying for itself during the summer months.

Given the rapid increase in CO2 concentrations alternative energy will be a must if we wish to keep this planet from becoming like Venus. Also, reliance on foreign energy is now overstretching US imperial ambitions where the returns are now decreasing in relation to costs, material and ideological.
Iraq until 2009 claimed by Cheney, US army recruiting goals not being met and repidly declining as the US people increasingly despise this fake “war on terror”…do the math…here comes the draft for people unwilling to go…. these coming years will make the 60s look like the 40s.

Well, its not clear yet what exactly is causing global warming or even how much global warming there is. The planet has always gone through warming/cooling cycles, the sun is not a constant.
As far as becoming like Venus, that’s hyperbole, so far we’re talking about a 2 degree increase in average temperature. In Flagstaff we have 20 degree swings between night and day, so I’m not sure how we would notice… 42-72 instead of 40-70?
